Choreo & Confidence is for anyone who has looked at a dance class and thought they would be the one person in the room who couldn’t keep up. It is built to make that impossible.

The class does one thing well: it teaches you a routine properly. Rather than moving through a new combination every week, we stay with one piece of choreography and build it across the class — a section at a time, slowly, layered together, repeated until it stops requiring thought. That repetition is the whole point. Choreography only feels good once you are no longer counting it, and getting to that stage takes more reps than most classes allow for.

Everything is broken down. Steps are shown from the front and from behind, counted in, and run at half speed before anything goes up to tempo. Questions are welcome at any point, and asking to see a transition again is expected rather than an interruption. There is no performance element, nobody is put on the spot, and there is no expectation that you have done any of this before.

The confidence half of the name is not decoration. Most people arrive apologising for their coordination and spend the first twenty minutes watching themselves rather than the instructor. What changes it is simply getting a section right — once one piece lands, the self-consciousness drops away and the rest comes noticeably faster. That shift usually happens within the first class or two.

It is still a workout. An hour of dancing is an hour of cardio however carefully it is taught, and you will finish warm and pleasantly tired. But the goal here is the routine, not the sweat.

This is the natural on-ramp to the rest of the schedule. People who start here tend to move across into Jazz Fusion, Burlesque or Throw Down® 101 once the movement feels like theirs. Bring water, a towel and shoes you can pivot in.
